Every year the Environmental Working Group releases a “Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce”. The list, Dirty Dozen, contains the produce that tested highest for residual pesticides.
If I remember correctly, this study tests non-organic produce.

- Spinach
- Nectarines
- Apples
- Peaches
- Pears
- Cherries
- Grapes
- Celery
- Tomatoes
- Sweet bell peppers
- Potatoes
- Hot Peppers

In addition to the Dirty Dozen, the EWG also releases the Clean Fifteen: Produce that tested with the lowest amounts of residual pesticides.
Clean Fifteen
- Sweet Corn (the EWG makes a note that a small amount of sweet corn in the United States)
- Avocados
- Pineapples
- Cabbage
- Onions
- Sweet Peas, frozen
- Papayas (the EWG makes a note that a few papayas in the United States)
- Asparagus
- Mangos
- Eggplant
- Honeydew Melon
- Kiwi
- Cantaloupe
- Cauliflower
- Grapefruit
